Our Mission:
We make each placement a "personal" one! Every placement is treated with the care and concern that parents and children deserve. We will strive to build an honest, reliable, respectable relationship with all parties and provide information, support, and guidance throughout this very important process.
The Business
The Omaha Nanny Network, LLC was formed in August 2008 by Laura Petersen, owner and placement counselor. "I believe it is my calling to help families like the ones I've worked for to find quality childcare for their little ones."
Our business is to recruit, screen, and interview area nannies to fill nanny positions around the Omaha metro area. There are no fees for the nanny applicants! The family is responsible for paying an application fee and placement fee if a nanny is hired through our network.
Here at the Omaha Nanny Network, it is our goal to individually meet and interview each potential nanny candidate. It is equally important for us to work with families that can provide our nannies a great work environment.
Unfortunately, many families are turning to online recruiting agencies in order to save time and money. I want to give you the great benefits of working one on one with a consultant/specialist at an affordable price. You will know what to expect and what you can look forward to. We will provide support through each and every step of the process.
Outstanding nannies, such as those at O.N.N. deserve and desire to be hand selected rather than chosen from a large database of nannies that may not be updated or accurate.
We want the whole experience to be a positive one for everyone! Please contact our network for more information or to talk with Laura at 402-202-1764.

oWNER, lAURA pETERSEN Hello! My name is Laura Petersen. I've been a part of the nanny industry for more than 8 years and now own and operate The Omaha Nanny Network, LLC.
Born and raised in Nebraska, my post high school plans did not include a huge move across the states. I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln and began working toward my degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.
While going to college, I took on many different part time jobs. These included a church nursery and preschool, a private in-home daycare, as well as part time babysitting jobs.
My wish was to travel out east to nanny for the summer months. Before my senior year at Wesleyan, I got that wish!
I was placed with a family in Fairfield, CT. It was the summer that truly changed my life. It's something I would recommend to other girls with an interest in children and a curiousity for new experiences. I spent my summer on Cape Cod with the family caring for their 3 children. Today those children are grown teenagers, but truly my inspiration for this business!
I headed back to Wesleyan for my senior year and graduated with a dual degree. I once again returned to the east coast to spend one last summer with the same family before entering the "real world." I took a job in Kansas City as a Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher for one year and gained an understanding of what the daycare setting is like for teachers and children. I saw many positives, but it was apparent to me what a difference it makes to have the one on one attention and love of a nanny.
I moved back to Nebraska after finding a nanny position for newborn twins in Lincoln. Once again, my life was changed by these two little girls and their older sister. To this day I feel like family when I walk through their back door for a visit or to spend a weekend with the girls. Although I loved this nanny position, I missed the east coast. So, I moved back out there in 2004.
As they say, I was granted 3 wishes and got all three! I was lucky enough to find yet another wonderful family with a newborn baby boy. He became my world almost immediately and I spent 2 years working as their live-out nanny. We did everything together, which made my move back to Nebraska in 2006 a difficult one. However, I found my own replacement...an amazing nanny that is still with this family!
In the fall of 2006, I was offered a 2nd grade teaching position and decided it was time to return to my family and roots in Nebraska. I taught for one year and enjoyed the "older" variety of children...however I missed the little ones. After finishing the school year, I moved to Omaha and was thrilled to finally be closer to my own family, especially my nephew Beau. I became a nanny for 3 little girls that I still work with a couple days a week. They light up my days and keep me very busy! I enjoy the business aspect of the network, however I can't imagine my days with out the laughter and smiles of the girls.
My goal was to open my own agency and share with others the wonderful experiences that I've had as a nanny. Almost 10 years ago when I was first placed in CT, I said to my parents...."That's what I will do someday." It is extremely rewarding to help Nebraska families find superior childcare. I look forward to meeting and working with YOU!
